Sarah Henry is a reporter based in Portland, Oregon, and a recent graduate of the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications.
Growing up across Florida’s beaches and swamp lands, Sarah developed in keen interest in telling human stories that intersect with the natural world. This summer, she will be living in Kentucky as the Mary Withers 2025 Rural Writing Fellow. As a student, she wrote articles for WUFT News and Atrium Magazine. Her story, Mascot for Cruelty, was in the top 10 for the 2025 Hearst Journalism Awards feature competition.
